How to create a personalized book on Onceling

Creating a book takes four guided steps. You can preview the result before paying for the full illustrated book.

How do I start a book on Onceling?: Browse the story gallery at /books, choose a template that fits the recipient's age, and click to create a new project. You can also start from the homepage or an example book.
What photos do I need to upload?: Onceling asks for specific photo angles needed to keep characters consistent across illustrations — typically a clear face photo of each person who appears in the book. You upload only what the template requires.
What personal details do I enter?: You enter the hero's name, age-appropriate interests, and any cast members the story needs. These details shape the plot, dialogue, and illustrations.
What happens during generation?: Onceling writes a personalized story and illustrates every page, keeping characters visually consistent using your photos as reference. Generation runs in the background; you can track progress on your project page.
What is the free preview?: The preview includes the cover, a sample of interior pages, and the back cover. It is generated at no charge so you can decide whether the story and artwork feel right before buying.
How do I unlock the full book?: From your project page, choose digital PDF or printed hardcover checkout. Payment unlocks all pages. If you already bought the digital edition, its price is credited toward a hardcover upgrade.
How do I read or receive the finished book?: Digital books download as a PDF from your orders page. Printed hardcovers are produced by Onceling's print partner and shipped to the address you provide at checkout.
Can I edit pages after generation?: Yes. Each account includes free image-generation credits for retouching or re-imagining individual pages. Additional illustration packs are available if you need more retries.
