Generation credits
Know the cost before you generate.
Purchased generation credits pay for template AI and illustration actions across your account. Each action shows its cost before you start. Template AI requires purchased credits: a full story or Pages rewrite costs 5; a focused edit costs 1. The free image allowance does not apply. Proofs are purchased separately.
Start with 5 free generations
Every account gets a one-time allowance of 5 generations. The allowance is shared across your books and does not renew each month.
Check the cost shown before starting
An ordinary new character look costs 2 generations. “Best story” at preview start, a single-page illustration, “Show another page,” and a later view redo cost 1. “Quick story” and the first view redo for each look version are free. A failed redo uses neither the included redo nor a generation.
Follow the label shown in the wizard
Some eligible book drafts show Included for each required person’s initial look. Only rely on that label: if the action shows a generation cost instead, it will use the balance shown on screen.
Buy a pack when needed
A one-time pack adds 10 generations to your account. Purchased generations do not expire.
Failed paid attempts are refunded
If a paid generation fails to complete, its generations are returned automatically and your balance updates.

The free and purchased totals refresh after generation, refund, checkout, and when you return to the page.
